Hi , Thanks for stopping by to check out my blog and the follow, hope you liked what you saw. Looking forward to seeing more from you, Its great to meet more local Irish on here, 🙂
Hi, Thanks for the beautiful images,my favourites are the black & whites of the old ruins, monuments, etc.I am big into ancient Irish history, you portray this excellently, will be following you,:)
I love the pic in your blog heading! Is there more to it?
I’m glad you’ve found this artistic outlet to keep yourself engaged with life, despite being burdened with chronic pain. It’s hard to forge ahead when literally every step is painful! I’m interested in how your are managing your pain. As a writer with chronic pain from EDS, (http://EDSinfo.wordpress.com) I find pain hopelessly distracting, yet as soon as it’s relieved, the words just pour out again. How do you do it?
Thanks for the comment. The picture’s called “Bob” and the story behind it is in my “Let’s Get Crazy!” blog https://mcsirishart.wordpress.com/2013/06/19/lets-get-crazy-a-homage-to-bob/
Now to your more serious question about managing pain. First I’m human and like most other sufferers I’ve tried almost every suggested medical and alternative treatment available – with little or no success.
Medication helps a bit but for the actual strength to carry on I had to find a spiritual path. Please don’t think I am a religious freak (far from it),
Some days I can do nothing and for me the key to handling my pain is living in the day, accepting that my illness has worsened over 12 years and not expecting too much of myself.
I used to carve beautiful slate mirrors, the illness took that and for a while I was lost. Then I attempted a sketch of the Dalai Lama, it took me a year to complete, sometimes only managing 10 minutes a day. Every time I look at it now, it reminds me no matter how agonizing my life can be to never give up.
I find that when thinking of the suffering of others, I am not thinking of mine so much – still some days I’m in such a dark place, the pain consumes me.
I believe if I hadn’t my art, I probably wouldn’t cope, so it’s easy does it – but do it. Thanks for asking, it’s blogs like yours that help me too 🙂
nice to visit my blog 🙂 you are awesome 🙂
Thank You 🙂
Thank you so much for dropping by my blog 🙂

Hi Julia, hope things are well with you, have just been over to your page, gorgeous products there! Was off the radar for a while, it was discovered I had a nerve that hadn’t healed after an tooth extraction 3/4 years ago! Now that’s been dealt with I have been able to come off a lot of the medication. The fm hasn’t left me but much of the flare has receded, thank God! New post coming soon.
